Readers love many of your secondary characters. Do you have plans to bring back these characters in new books? Why or why not?
If I become intrigued by a secondary character and can’t seem to get them off my mind, I know that the need a book of their own. Readers have asked for books for dozens of secondary characters, but unless a character “speaks to me” in a way that I know they have a story to tell, I can’t give them a book.
I do have tentative plans to use characters from THE DYING GAME and THE MURDER GAME in future books. Readers will see more of Griffin Powell and Nicole Baxter. As a matter of fact, an idea for another story for these two has been formulating in my mind for several weeks now. Also, Sanders and Barbara Jean will appear as secondary characters in upcoming novels. And I know that somewhere down the line, Dr. Yvette Meng will get her own book.
Minor secondary character (Powell agent) Rick Carson is the hero of my September ’08 Zebra novel, COLD HEARTED. It’s possible that other Powell agents will get their own stories, too, including Maleah Perdue, Holt Keinan, and Luke Sentell. We’ll just have to wait and see if these people keep “talking” to me. And I feel certain that one of these days Camden Hendrix will show up again. |

When the final book is released at the end of this year, there will be 30 The Protectors books in all, counting the three prequels.
At this time the only way to obtain copies of the older books is to find them from used book dealers.
I hope that at some point Harlequin/Silhouette will reprint all of The Protectors books. Feel free to contact Harlequin and ask them. |

Will you read books by other authors and give them quotes?
Only if an author goes through my editor or my agent and they request the quote. |

 |
Will you read manuscripts by unpublished writers and give them advice?
No, I do not read any manuscripts. It simply is not possible to do this for many reasons, the least of which is time. My advice to unpublished writers is to find a writer’s organization to join. If they write romance, I highly recommend Romance Writers of America. Check them out at www.rwanational.org Also, attend conferences and workshops offered by writers and consider taking creative writing classes. |
